Hello! In January, we announced a desire to support pregnant and breastfeeding mothers with nutritional meals alongside the educational and emotional support. While this plan had been was working in the back of my mind, the life and legacy of Sarah Nelson pushed us to not wait until we had all the answers. Instead, we trusted our community to surround these women with the love they needed to thrive.
So we are three months in! Your financial support has allowed us to care for these vulnerable women and their babies. Together, we have provided over 800 nutritionally balanced meals! Praise the Lord!
This is the porridge we have been providing. It is made by a non-profit in South Africa that lets us buy it at cost. It is full of fiber, protein, and vitamins!
This little cutie loves her porridge! She is almost three, and in the few months of having a consistent meal a day, we have seen her grow so much! If you want to make sure she is still getting her porridge every day, please give below. It costs $12 a month to make sure she gets enough!
Courageous Care is partnering with the maternal support that the Zoe Project provides! I am running the teen mom group every Friday. We talk about raising kids, school, community issues, and self-care. The moms come to their session and receive the weekly porridge for them and their children.
On top of the nutritional and emotional support, this teen mom is also receiving help from Courageous Care for her school transport. She is finishing her matric this year (for my Americans, she is a senior). Her bus fee is $40 a month. She is working so hard to finish high school. If you want to contribute to her school bus fee, click below to donate!
Thank you for all that you do to help us support these moms! They are working hard to make sure their babies have a better life. When you donate, the money goes to supporting this program!
Love from South Africa,
Autumn
